Probus Club Of Berowra Inc.
OUR MEETING PLACE.
The club meets on the first Friday of each month at 10.00 am in the hall at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, 18-20 Berowra Waters Road, Berowra. Committee meetings are currently held at 9.00 am preceding the general meeting.
The Club’s Annual General Meeting is held on the first Friday of March of each year following the normal monthly meetings.
AIMS.
Our purpose is to advance intellectual and cultural interests among adult persons who have retired or are semi-retired from their former occupations. We hold regular meetings and arrange activities to provide opportunities for the growth of friendship and for social interaction. We are non-political, non-sectarian and are not a fund-raising body, but we are dedicated to enjoying ourselves.
The organisation began as a male Probus Club, but in February, 2014 our members voted overwhelmingly to convert our structure to a mixed Probus Club. Each month members, socialise at morning tea and afterwards a Guest Speaker gives a presentation generally lasting about an hour. These presentations cover a wide range of interesting topics.
Club members also engage in a wide variety of activities ranging from meals together at various venues; outings to various locations e.g. museums, gardens, places of interest, cruises, theatres, zoos to name a few.
Each year the group endeavours to organise an Australia-based tour, generally lasting 3 to 8 days, for interested members. These are always great fun, entertaining and help build friendships.
