October 2024

Members will have another busy month in October attending a performance of Cirque Du Soleil, joining Stanthorpe, Rose City and Warwick Probus Clubs for a fellowship day in Warwick, and attending a show by Anh Do at The Centre, Beaudesert.

September 2024

Members carpooled to attend a Livvy and Pete Tribute Show (songs of Olivia Newton John and Peter Allen) at Boonah. A group of 18 Probians, CWA ladies and the Seniors Social Group from Beaudesert, enjoyed lunch afterwards at the Australian Hotel.

August 2024

August was a very busy month for members with several outings.

The first one was a complimentary outing to Boonah via Rathdowney and home via Wyaralong Dam with Diamond Class Fun Over 50s. After a spot of "op shopping" and morning tea, the group visited Mt French to capture the magnificent views from the lookout.

The second outing was "Back to the Tivoli" to hear Vocalists, GB Taylor and Jennifer Green, Instrumentalist, Amber Jade, Magician, Brendan Montana and TV recording artist, Nikki Bennett.

The third outing was to Beenleigh Rum where members did a tour of the distillery. Those who didn't partake in the tastings enjoyed coffee and cake. The day rounded out with lunch at Harrigan's Irish Pub at Calypso Bay.

The final activity for the month was a social Bowls Day at the Beudesert Bowling Club. Four teams played off for the coveted Beaudesert Probus Bowls trophy. Lots of fun was had by all who attended with some promising novice bowlers showing their "stuff" on the day.

July 2024

Members had an early start, leaving Beaudesert at 7:00 am to travel to Southport for a whale watching cruise on the Spirit of the Gold Coast Catamaran. The morning was not as cold as expected with hardly a ripple on the water, except for the large splashes of whale fins. Members were treated to a mother whale teaching her baby how to tail slap.

June 2024

Members enjoyed glorious weather on a bus trip to Redcliffe. After an enjoyable coffee break at Nudgee, members visited Bee Gees Way, took in the beautiful crystal clear water, the jetty walk, browsed the shops, and had lunch at the Redcliffe RSL Club with live music.

May 2024

Despite it raining most of the day, 20 members had a great day trip to Murwillumbah visiting Hinze Dam and Buck’s Organic Farm at Chillingham on the way. Driving through the hinterland provided food for the soul with windy roads, spectacular scenery and mist in the mountains.

At Hinze Dam, some members had coffee in the café overlooking the magnificent gardens while others braved the weather to check out the spillway. On the day we were there the capacity was 100.5% (312,361 megalitres) so the water was cascading over the spillway.

In Murwillumbah, some members had lunch at the RSL, some met with old friends and some braved the rain and did the shops over. We checked out the beautiful architectural buildings in town along with the street art in the CBD. The Treasures of the Tweed wall mural along Commercial Road was painted in 2008 to visually enhance an unsightly concrete levee wall and showcase the region's diverse flora and fauna. Cylinder shaped art seats in the CBD are part of the Tweed Green Parklet, Public Art and Activation Project, a Streets as Shared Spaces initiative.

April 2024

Members travelled to Twin Towns in Coolangatta and were entertained by a remarkable ensemble of artists, Seamus Early and Jennifer Green (vocalists), Natalie May (ventriloquist), Freddy Aguilera (harpist), Bayne Bacon (pianist and comedian), and the Tivoli Band and Dancers. A big thanks to Stewart from Logan Coaches for the smooth ride on the bus.

Our show going members had another fabulous outing to the Kings of Country Rock at The Centre, Beaudesert. This was a two-hour stage spectacular capturing the sounds and excitement of America’s country rock icons featuring all the timeless country rock classics that defined The Eagles and Creedence Clearwater Revival.

March 2024

Members had an early start travelling to Maleny Bird Sanctuary with a stop at Buck’s Bakery at Fernvale for a cuppa and morning tea. The views of the Glasshouse Mountains were spectacular. Upon arrival at the bird sanctuary, members enjoyed an escorted tour through the aviaries and got up close and personal with many of the birds.
