How did it all begin?
A meeting to launch the Probus Club of Beaudesert was called by the local Rotary Club on 1 May 1984 where it was agreed to form a club.
Meetings were held in the Colonial Room at the Railway Hotel on the first Tuesday of the month at 10 am. Morning tea was tea/coffee and biscuits. Meeting dates were soon changed to the first Wednesday of each month.
Originally a mens only club, women were always welcome at club meetings and functions. The first woman member was inducted on 1 February 2012.
Members have enjoyed varied trips over the years, mostly one day excursions with some extended trips. The first overseas trip took place in February 2003 when a great time was had by many members on Norfolk Island.
