The first meeting of those interested in forming a Probus Club in Altona North was conducted by Mr. Doug Grant of the Altona Rotary Club Inc., on 17^th February, 2004. Probus South Pacific accredited the Club on 10^th March, 2004. The Combined Probus Club of Altona North commenced with 27 founding members. Meetings were held at Altona Scout Hall, Duosa Road, Altona North.

At a meeting of the Club held on 19^th June, 2013, The Probus South Pacific Ltd Constitution was adopted by no less than a three-quarter majority of the Members as required under the Constitution.

When the Club was incorporated on and from 3^rd March 2005, the name on the Application for Incorporation was the Combined Probus Club of Altona North, although Probus South Pacific and other official documents had the Club’s name as Altona North Combined Probus Inc. At a Special General Meeting held on 20^th June 2018, a motion was adopted to clarify the registered name of the Club, and henceforth that the Altona North Combined Probus Inc. be recorded as the official name of the Club on all documents and at all places. Application was made to Consumer Affairs Victoria to change the Club name and on 5^th July 2018 a Certificate of Incorporation was issued in the new name.

For many years Club meetings were held at the Brooklyn Hall, Cypress Ave., Brooklyn. Since 2021 meetings have been held at the Altona Sports Club.

From 27 founding members in 2004, the Club has grown to around 60 members over the last 20 years. We celebrated our 20^th Birthday in February 2024.
