Congratulations Colin!
02 Nov 2012
At the monthly meeting of the Waimakariri Combined Probus Club (WCPC) members voted unanimously to award Life Membership to Colin Ross.
The award is in acknowledgement of Colin’s contribution and participation as an active member of WCPC.
Colin joined the club in 2006 and instantly became involved in the activities of the club, progressing to the positions of Vice President in 2007 and President in 2008. An enthusiastic photographer, his involvement continued as the club’s official photographer until recently. Colin remains an interested and a fully participating member of the club.
Colin celebrated his 90th birthday in December 2011. He was born in Hampstead, London, and immigrated to New Zealand in 1971 following an interesting career in aircraft maintenance that began in Gatwick in 1937 prior to WWII, finally retiring in Hamilton as a Senior Aircraft Surveyor in 1981.
Colin was congratulated and presented with his Certificate of Life Membership by President Rosemarie Shaw. It should be noted that the Waimakariri Combined Probus Club was established in 2005 and Colin is the first to receive Life Membership.
