History at Government House

The Darwin Probus Club recently visited Government House, hosted by the Honorable Sally Thomas AM, Administrator of the Northern Territory. 

During Her Honour's address to the club, she noted that 25 years previously, members had visited Paul's Milk Factory. Drawing a parallel between the Darwin Probus Club and Paul's in the NT, Her Honour noted the growth and strength of both organisations. Her Honour then presented Eean Thorne with a carton of the famous Pauls Iced Coffee. 

The Probus Club of Darwin Service Trophy was born. 

This trophy is to be presented in September each year to a worthy recipient - the trophy must go to a rank and file member, neever to an executive. 

The inaugural winner was 91 year old Joy Meeder. Joy was one of the founders of the View Club in Mona Vale and as a vital member of our club involves herself in every activity she possibly can.
