A new dawn in Denmark
04 Nov 2014
September saw a new dawn in Denmark with the formation of a second Probus Club. The venue for the meeting was the local Lions' Den with a good crowd attending.
After an opening and welcome by Albany City Rotary Club representative, Ian Rayson, PSPL Director Winston Marsh gave an introduction and presentation on what Probus is all about.
PAWA Representative Graham Kirkwood, along with two representatives of the Probus Club of Mt Barker, shared their stories and experiences on the fellowship and fun experienced within Probus.
After enjoying the hospitality of morning tea provided by the members of the Combined Probus Club of Denmark, the business side of the meeting was addressed, which included formal adoption of the Standard Probus Club Constitution, confirmation of the name of the club as Denmark River Probus Club and Resolutions seeking accreditation by PSPL.
A total of 33 foundation members signed up on the day and the Management Committee was elected.
The club is certainly off to a good start with more members expected at the next meeting.
At the conclusion of the meeting fellowship continued at the Denmark Hotel for a very enjoyable lunch.
