Rose City adventure
15 May 2013
Late last year, 16 Probus friends boarded the bus for a day’s outing that included a visit to the Main Roads Transport Museum at the Toowoomba Airport, and a visit to the State Rose Garden at Newtown to smell the roses.
At the Transport Museum, Queensland’s road development was portrayed in both picture and text, showing some of the actual tools and implements used in road construction over the years.
The group made a quick visit to the Palm Lake Resort, en route to meeting members of the Highfields Probus Club at the Blue Mountain Hotel.
Lunch with members of the Highfields Club was most enjoyable as members met new folk, shared information about Probus and generally enjoyed each other’s company. Members also enjoyed a guided tour of the area by Peter Cullen, a Toowoomba historian. A great day was had by all.
