Happy 35th birthday
27 Apr 2020
Albany Ladies’ Probus Club celebrated its birthday in February, marking 35 years since its foundation.
The Albany Ladies’ Probus Club was the first ladies’ Club formed in Western Australia. The Club was chartered in February 1985 with 65 members.
Until October last year, three foundation members were still as involved as able in the Club, and currently, the inaugural President, June Bailey, attends regularly.
Albany now has six Probus Clubs – three ladies’, two men’s, and one combined.
The birthday was a quiet but enjoyable celebration following the Club’s AGM. The Club was pleased to welcome Graeme Brown, Probus District Chairman and WA representative to PSPL, and his wife Olwyn, to the meeting and celebration.
Albany Ladies’ Probus Club currently has 48 members and remains a vibrant and enjoyable Club. The cake was cut by June Bailey, inaugural President, and Margaret Dickinson, the most recent Life Member. The photo above depicts June, Margaret and Graeme.
