Guided tour to Optus Stadium

The Men's Probus Club of Booragoon enjoyed another great day's outing organised by the Outings Officer Alan Marsh.

28 members and thier partners experienced a most interesting guided tour of the new and fantastic Perth's Sporting and Event facility - Optus Stadium.

Transport by luxury coach under the care of Chris of Club 55 who provided morning tea and arranged a fish and chip lunch at the impressive Camfield Hotel right next door to the Stadium.

Optus Stadium is a brand new huge facility set in beautiful riverside surroundings. It seats 60,000 people for AFL events and has potential for 65,000 for rectangular sports. It provides dedicated changing rooms with facilities for the 2 local teams Fremantle Dockers and West Coast Eagles. The Stadium provides for a wide range of sports such as AFL, Cricket, Rugby Union and League and Soccer. It also used for Athletics, concerts and entertainment. Over 50 food and beverage outlets are catered for and various conference and function rooms are available. It boasts 2 of the biggest super screens in Australia (340 sqm  each) and its own railway station. Amazing light displays are provided by state of the LED lights. The design incorporates and emphasises our indigenous heritage and includes the really unique Matarangup Bridge.
