Two popular Hobart Macquarie Probus Club couples celebrated their Diamond wedding anniversaries in 2021.
Couples Vivienne & Dieter and Denise & Colin have not only each been married for 60 years, but incredibly, they were also married on the same day, 1 April 1961, at the same time, 6:30pm – although their weddings took place at opposite ends of Tasmania.
Vivienne & Dieter tied the knot in Launceston, while Denise & Colin exchanged vows in Hobart.
They did not know of this unique situation until one day at a Probus meeting when they were discussing their marital milestones.
To celebrate their anniversaries, they enjoyed a joint special dinner at a Hobart Restaurant.
