Tensions mount in Logan

Racial clashes have continued for a third night in Logan as police struggled to separate groups of Pacific Islanders and Aborigines. The Premier, Campbell Newman and Logan mayor, Pam Parker, are calling for calm. The Courier Mail has the full story.

Fighting NSW bushfire

Milder conditions overnight have assisted firefighters to contain some sections of a major blaze in northern New South Wales. The fire has already destroyed 33 homes and burned through 40,000 hectares west of Coonabarabran. A watch and act alert is still in place. Read more.

Drugs linked to Rottnest head

Reports have emerged that the head found on a beach on Rottnest Island could be that of a well-known man linked to drug charges and underworld figures. WA police have refused to release the name of the man until his family are notified. Perthnow.com.au has more.
