Alstonville's 30th
04 Oct 2013
When Alstonville Probus members celebrated 30 years and the club's recent growth, PSP Treasurer Douglas Geekie was on hand to congratulate Club President Kayleen Cooper.
The Club was honoured by the presence of PSP Treasurer Douglas Geekie, who presented a certificate to Club President Kayleen Cooper marking the 30th anniversary of the club. He also presented a Certificate of Appreciation for the Club’s contribution to the community.
The Probus Club of Alstonville was formed as a men’s club in June 1983 with 29 members. In 2005, membership numbers were beginning to fall and it was decided to invite ladies to join the men’s club, with the first three ladies inducted in September 2006.
Demand for membership has continued to grow so much that the club now has a ceiling of 75 members. Members pride themselves on providing friendship, fellowship and fun.
