Celebrating in style

Congratulations to the Albany Ladies Probus Club, which just turned 30.

The Albany Ladies Probus Club formed on January 11, 1985. The members had a delightful lunch together at a local restaurant to celebrate the milestone earlier this year. It was great to have original foundation and life members members, June Bailey and Gwen Norman, attend the event.

Another highlight was the presentation of life memberships to Dorothy Morgan and Rae Anderson, also foundation members.

The restaurant was decorated in the Probus colours of blue and yellow with the theme replicated in members' beautiful floral displays. Another member Erica Wilkinson made the birthday cake.

According to President Charmaine Hickman, it had been "an uplifting and joyous" occasion, capturing the true spirit of Probus - “friendship, fellowship and fun".

It was a wonderful group effort of conscientious planning and attention to detail by all.

"I believe at Albany Ladies Probus we have something quite unique in this day and age - everyone is willing to pull their weight for the greater cause of the club," she said.

Probus WA Great Southern representative Graham Kirkwood presented the club with a 30th birthday certificate. The celebration was also attended by representatives of neighbouring clubs.
