At the nomination of past-President, Don Fowler, and the agreement of the executive, President John Barrie surprised John Horchner with a life membership badge.
During his 17 years as a member of the club, John has fulfilled roles of president, vice-president, secretary, bulletin editor and speaker with enthusiasm, competence and concern for the welfare of all – supported loyally by his wife, Marjorie.
Members applauded whole-heartedly knowing how much John has encouraged each one over the years.
While the badge is a mark of appreciation, it is not a sign of retirement as John continues to be bulletin editor – and may not be able to resist taking up other roles when the need arises.
His tireless energy and cheerfulness adds pleasure to meetings and trips.
