An act of terror on Boston’s streets
US President Barak Obama has declared the Boston Marathon bombings as an act of terror as the FBI make a public appeal for help. The death toll remains at three, including one child, and the number of injured has risen to 176 with 16 people in a critical condition. No suspects have been taken into custody, however police have reportedly searched an apartment. Boston remains on high security alert. Read the full story on ABC News.
One Nation co-founder sues Abbott
In what Tony Abbott is claiming as payback, papers have been served by the co-founder of the One Nation party against the Opposition Leader. David Ettridge is suing Abbott for $1.5 million for acting unlawfully by assisting litigation against One Nation that lead to the deregistration of the party. Read more.
Earthquake rocks the Middle East
Iran’s biggest earthquake in 40 years has sent shockwaves across the Middle East and South Asia, killing at least 35 people in Pakistan. The epicentre of the magnitude 7.8 quake was 86 kilometres from Iranian Khash, just near the border with Pakistan. ABC News has all the details.
North Korea threatens the South
North Korea has threatened the South over anti-Pyongyang protests and has rejected the idea of entering into a dialogue with the United States. Batman charged with burglary
A man who dressed as Batman and handed in a mate wanted on warrant has been arrested and charged with burglary. Stan Worby brought every child’s fantasy to life when he dressed as Batman to bring Daniel Frayne to justice. However, Worby and Frayne have now become partners in crime.
