Hobart Probus (Men’s) spreads its wings
20 Oct 2016
The month of September saw the Hobart Probus (Men’s) Club make two ambitious journeys.
Firstly, an overnight visit to Launceston organised by David Brammall was thoroughly enjoyed by the 18 who participated. Highlights included were the Museum, Planetarium, Seahorse World, lunch at the Tamar Cove Motel, the Beaconsfield Mine, Moore’s winery, Cataract Gorge and accommodation at the Tamar Valley Resort (the former Grindelwald).
Several days later, another group led by President Brian Butler travelled to South Australia and spent six days sailing on the Murray in the Proud Mary from Murray Bridge to the first lock at Blanchetown and back – a distance of 320km. With many shore excursions, fine food, on-board entertainment and expert lectures, the group had a great journey and also enjoyed time in and around Adelaide.
