The Attadale Men’s Probus Club celebrated its 30th anniversary in October 2012 with the publication of a special club history, 30 Years Strong
As the seventh club formed in WA, the club has always been conscious of recording its history with careful retention of records, archives and profiles of members, and has published club histories on three prior special occasions.
Vern Westley, past president and life member, wrote the first three histories, with the active support of past president Ken Kelsall on two occasions. The histories for the 10th and 20th anniversaries were black and white affairs but Keith Alexander made the 25th a landmark full colour version.
The most-recently published history, 30 Years Strong, is published in full colour, with an appropriate 30 pages. On the front cover is a magnificent view of the Perth city skyline as seen from the club’s meeting place at the South of Perth Yacht Club.
It was a three-man effort this time with past president and life member Keith Alexander again taking on the job of page make-up and production, Glyn Williams responsible for research, text and front cover picture, and Denys Craig eliminating mistakes with his assiduous final proofing.
