Police are appealing for help to find a kidnapped baby boy and investigating three shootings, and video emerges of Spain's train derailment.
Baby and teenager kidnapped
Police are calling for urgent assistance to find a 10-month-old boy kidnapped in Sydney’s west late last night. The boy and a 16-year-old girl were kidnapped at knifepoint from a Chester Hill home. They were forced into a dark Toyota Camry with NSW plates AN-22-XX by a thin tattooed man between 165 and 175 centimetres tall with brown hair, wearing green track pants and a blue jumper. The girl was assaulted and left by the side of the road at about 10pm at Douglas Park. The boy remains missing, and police urge anyone with information to call triple-0 immediately.
Spanish train derailment death toll reaches 80
The death toll in the Spanish train crash has reached 80 and is expected to continue rising as more bodies are found. With 280 passengers and an unknown number of crew, the train derailed in the Galicia region of Spain. The driver of the train has now been taken into custody by police following reports that the train was speeding before the crash.

Reports of rape and violence on Manus Island
As Immigration Minister Tony Burke travels to Manus Island to inspect the immigration detention centre, reports are emerging of rape of prisoners, violent attacks on centre staff and escapes. An employee of the centre alleges that reports were made of offences, but they were not investigated and PNG police were not informed.
Weather warning for south-west WA
Dangerous weather is expected to hit south-west WA from Kalbarri to Israelite Bay today, with flash flooding and damaging winds up to 125km/h. People in the region are being advised to prepare by weighing down any loose items outdoors, maintaining a complete emergency kit, moving pets and animals to a safe area, mooring boats and taking shelter away from trees and powerlines, stormwater drains and streams.

Police appeal for help after three shootings
Sydney Police are investigating three shootings in Sydney’s west overnight. A man and woman in a car were fired at in Wentworthville, with the man being shot in the leg, a 41-year old man was shot in the leg in Smithfield, and officers responded to reports of shots in Guildford.
