Edit photos without spending a fortune on editing software like Photoshop. All you have to do is go online.
So there you are snapping away with your brand new digital camera, but when you look at the photos on your screen you realise the lighting just isn’t quite right. Or you’d like to pop a caption on the photo. Or, you’d like to collage a whole heap of photos together. But can you edit photos without spending a fortune on editing software like Photoshop?
There are plenty of websites that let you do everything online.
Pixlr
Pixlr is just like a desktop software application, just one click away in your browser. All you have to do is open your browser and start editing.
All the handy tools are featured in a vertical menu on the left side of the screen, including crop, select, a bandaid fix and paint bucket, among others.
To resize an image, just go to Image – Image Size. Make sure Constrain Proportions is ticked and input whatever size you’d like.
Pixlr works much like Photoshop with layers so if you’d like to edit more than just a crop, a lighting fix or a resize, you can definitely do it in here, including adding text and adding filters.
PicMonkey
PicMonkey is another online photo editor that adds a new dimension to any picture you take. Collage pictures, add text and even start from scratch to make inspirational quotes.
If you’re in the Photo Editor section, you can add effects such as boosting the colour, changing the image to black and white and even adding a touch of frost to the edges. You can also fix blemishes.
There are some features, however, that are only available to Royal subscribers, which comes with a fee.
BeFunky
BeFunky is very simple to use. In the Photo Editing menu, there are the basics editing tools such as cropping, touching up and sharpening focus. There is also a Featured Effects panel where you can change your image to reflect a vintage feel or create your very own Popart masterpiece.
You can also cartoonise your face and add borders to any image you like. Plus there are clipart-style images that you can insert. Want to make it look like the sun is shining? Add a bokeh effect.
Again, there is a paid upgrade to access more features.
And the rest
Of course, there are plenty more websites going around including FotoFlexer and Lunapic. All of them offer similar features with slight variations.
No matter what website you choose, the great thing is that it’s free. And you can personalise any photo you want with your very own stamp of approval.
