Five dead after quake and tsunami
A major 8.0 magnitude earthquake hit the Solomon Islands yesterday afternoon followed by small tsunami waves. Five people have died and dozens of homes damaged or destroyed. Yahoo Seven has the full story.

Forced injections for bombers
It is alleged that some Essendon players were forced to take injections against their will last season after being told it was team strategy. Scaring the kids
People in Japan are calling on a town’s legislators to cover the replica of Michelangelo’s David as he’s scaring the children. Okuizumo in the Shimane region received the five-metre statute as well as a replica of Venus de Milo as a donation. Both are on show in a public park. The ABC has more.
Gibb’s tribute to his brothers
Barry Gibb will perform as part of a trio when his Mythology world tour starts in Sydney on Friday night, but there are no special effects being used. Rather, his son and his niece will stand on stage with Gibb to honour his late brothers. Read more.
