Members from St Helens Combined Probus Club were very excited to help Mrs Ursula Parsons celebrate her 100th birthday.
A member of Probus since 1999, Mrs Parsons attends meetings when she is able, is a valued member of the club, and is now an Honorary Member. Her birthday which was on the 21st of March and was celebrated by the many groups of which she is a member. She could hardly keep up with the parties! St Helens Combined Probus celebrated with her at our AGM with a beautiful bunch of flowers.
Mrs Parsons received congratulatory cards from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Governor General Sir Peter Cosgrove and from our local member of Parliament Eric Hutchinson MP, as well as from many others. She is proudly pictured here with her card from the Queen.
Ursula is an accomplished cook and craftswoman and is famous for her beautiful knitting and crocheting, her delicious Christmas cakes, and cheese straws – a family favourite!
Mrs Parsons believes the secret to her long life is her close and loving family, who are her greatest love, and the source of her strength and happiness.
Congratulations Ursula!
