The Booragoon (WA) Ladies' and Booragoon Men's Probus combine for an outing.

On this occasion, 49 members and partners filled Kevin's Elite Tours coach for a Christmas in July excursion. This commenced with a very interesting and pretty tour of the Perth Hills region with a stop at the Mundaring Weir for morning tea.
As all sandgropers will know this historic water lifeline undertaking was completed in 1902 to supply drinking water for the Goldfields 560km to the East. At that time it was considered to be the highest overflow dam in the world. Unfortunately, it last overflowed in 1996. However, it is now supplemented by desalinated seawater and still, after over 100 years, provides fresh water for the Goldfields and Agricultural areas via pumping stations and extensive pipelines. The engineer all those years ago was the famous and tragic C.Y. O'Connor - but that's another story.

The next stop was at The Abbey at Chesters restaurant in the Swan Valley where all enjoyed a traditional Christmas lunch. Following this, one more stop was made in the Valley at the Mondo Nougat factory where many 'healthy' purchases were made.
Outings Officers Lyn Chamberlain and Terry Hannagan are to be congratulated on such a fine outing.
