Moore shipwrecks
27 Feb 2018
33 members and partners of the Men's Club of Booragoon recently enjoyed an outstanding coach outing to Guilderton.
After a stop for morning tea, the group proceeded to Two Rocks to retrace the fateful journey of the Gilt Dragon, a 42 metre vessel of the Dutch East India Company which was wrecked off the WA coast in 1656 on its way to Batavia.
After their informative morning, the group enjoyed a delicious seafood lunch Cafe "a Moore" overlooking the Moore River. Lunch was followed by some more exploration of the area, before the group returned home.
Outings Officer Merv Peters is to be congratulated on yet another most successful outing, and all members agreed that it was a most enjoyable and interesting day trip.
