Worthy Recognition of Years of Service to the Community

At the September meeting of The Probus Club of Ballina Waters Phyllis Carthew was awarded a Certificate of Honour and Life Membership of the Club Presented by the President Jan Copeland.
Phyllis was an inaugural member of the Ballina Waters Probus Club when formed in 1988.
The award was in recognition of her many untiring years of service as she served as Probus Club Treasurer from 1993 to 2000, a role that was treated as a vocation, with efficiency, effectiveness and diligence.
Her excellence as a citizen has been inspirational in that apart from serving with our Club she has also served in responsible positions in other organisations within our community for many years being a valued member of Ballina Inner Wheel and the Returned Servicewomen’s Association.
At 94 yrs of age she is still a woman of dignity and grace, seldom missing a meeting or function, being a perfect example of the ideals of Probus.
