Ooh la la!

The Probus Club of Sanctuary Cove typically has a Christmas in July celebration. This year, they decided to do things a bit differently, opting to celebrate Probus’ 40th Birthday and Bastille day simultaneously on July 14th.

Bastille Day was celebrated with style. There were competitions, prizes, singing (in French, of course) and lots of laughter.

Loads of bottles of French wine were won by people who gave good French imitations, by others who dressed admirably for the occasion, and people who just happened to be holding the right ticket.

A hamper of French goodies and a pair of French knickers were also won by lucky recipients!

Oh la la! What belle fun we all had. Our thanks to Freddy, our wonderful French chef who made up a menu of scrumptious French cuisine especially for the occasion at Lavelle Street Café, Nerang. Kudos to Rudi for entertaining us on the keyboard, the piano accordion, and leading the singing in such memorable tunes as Alouette’ and La Marseillaise.
