Sea of green
28 Apr 2021
There was no sea of “Probus blue” to be seen on this river cruise – instead it was a “sea of green” as Eaton Probus Club members acknowledged their Irish ancestry on St Patrick’s Day.
Thirty Probus members and friends boarded for a most enjoyable cruise up the river, under three bridges, past nesting birds and the occasional cow in the paddock watching as they passed by.
The journey along the river was complemented with interesting commentary by Michael, who talked about the river and general history of the area.
Soon members arrived at the picnic area, shaded by huge gum trees, where they had a very pleasant time socialising while they waited for lunch to be cooked. The general consensus was that the wait was well worth it, and it was proven with many going back for seconds.
All too soon it was time to get back on the boat for an equally pleasant journey, down river to home.
Yet another lovely day of friendship and fun.
