A journey of fun, friendship and fellowship
04 Dec 2018
On a wet, miserable and far too early day, for retired members of Bateau Bay Combined Probus Club members set off for a journey of fun, friendship and fellowship.
Members stopped at Bald Hill Headland Reserve for morning tea, where there were panoramic views over the South Coast. A great spot to view passing whales and stretch our legs. They then travelled down the Grand Pacific Drive, traversing the 655 metre Sea Cliff Bridge, and the coastal scenery to their destination of Lake Tabourie Motor Inn, just outside Ulladulla.
During this trip members visited the Heritage Museum of Huskisson, with all the history of boat building on the South Coast. Several of the ferries that worked Sydney Harbour were built here. The “Lady Denman” has pride of place in the museum. Another great venue members visited was the family run Mogo Zoo. Thr guide was very enthusiastic and informative.
Of course, the ladies had a great time in the shops of quaint Milton and Ulladulla. On the way home members visited Berry and the Treat Factory – an enterprising operation, with a great tour and sampling some of their products. Back on the coach members headed home through Picton and Camden. A great trip enjoyed by all members.
