Ghost stories

“It was a dark and stormy night when I awoke to see this 16 year old girl, all in white, by my bed …”. Steve Ricketts, owner of the Victorian homestead Burnima in Bombala spun chilling ghost stories for the Gold Creek Probus Club during their recent visit.
Burnima was built by Frederick Young in 1896. Inside are 10 bedrooms, a sitting room, a formal dining room, study, reception, billiards room and servants’ quarters. Outside are four hectares of gardens and a large fish pond. It is believed that the ghost of the home’s first owner, Henry Tollemache Edwards, is often seen around the grounds.
