Familiar faces

Because of the relaxed restrictions in Queensland, Miami Combined Probus Club was finally able to hold a Club barbecue in a local council park.

Like other Clubs around the country, Miami Combined, based on the Gold Coast, has been resorting to regular phone calls to members to keep in touch and monitor their health during the lockdown.

Rather than lose interest, members have grown closer together through this interaction and are eagerly waiting to get back to some semblance of normality.

The committee has been meeting regularly, firstly on Zoom and recently in an open park (same one as in the above photo) thanks to the wonderful weather on the Gold Coast.

And so, because of the relaxed restrictions in Queensland, the Club enjoyed its barbecue, which was attended attended by all but a few members.

It was great to see those smiling faces again and there was no doubt that everyone enjoyed a wonderful day catching up with news and relating to old friends again.

The Club was even able to perform a long outstanding induction of one of its newer members.
