"Seniors Expo" in conjunction with Seniors Week

On Friday 10 March the Old Bar Mens Shed conducted a "Seniors Expo" in conjunction with Seniors Week.
The Expo was held at Club Old Bar and highlighted the many and varied clubs and support groups that were available to the residents of Old Bar and the surrounding satellite towns of Wallabi Point and Manning Point. Among those with information tables were our Probus Club, Lions, Rotary, Legal Aid and ancilliary services, Centrelink, the Community Technology Centre (CTC), Quilters Group, the local Bowling Club and many others.
There were 38 tables in all with many locals attending to view the exhibits. Old Bar Probus Club was well supported with pamphlets and giveaways by Probus South Pacific which were in demand. The committee of the club are grateful for the support given.
It is hoped that the Active Retirees magazine will be a great source of information for prospective members. There were a number of approaches and the club hopes to gain new members from this venture.
Presentations from our local doctor and health groups on such topics as "Causes of Strokes" , " Keeping Healthy" and "Good Eating Habits" etc were well attended. The whole event was well organised and well attended by the community.
