Last month, Jim Morrow spoke to us. His love of tramping began when he was at school, and he has enjoyed many years in the Auckland Tramping Club. In 2018, he was part of the expedition to Kanchenjunga, in Nepal. Starting at Kathmandu with a population of 2 million, they tramped passing tea plantations, a variety of animals, including Himalayan Blue sheep, beautiful orchids, swing bridges (some good, and some not so good). There were many prayer flags, also carved prayer stones into walls. The meals were very good, even with basic cooking equipment. A fascinating insight into the area. We were pleased to have members of the Men’s Probus Club and their wives join us, to help us celebrate Probus Day.
