ROMEOS - Retired Old Men Enjoying Ourselves  meets on the 2nd Thursday of months February to November at various venues.   Next meeting: Thursday 12th February 2026, 10.00 a.m. at The Brisbane Motor Museum.    Contact: Lyndley Northcott.

December 2025

Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd: Lord Mayor's Christmas Concerts.    Lead: Margaret Spiller

Thursday, 11th December:  Club Christmas Lunch at Geebung RSL, 323 Newman Rd, Geebung. 11.00 a.m for 11.30 .  Lunch is served at 12.10 p.m. so don't be late.   2 course lunch for $55.00 - cost includes 1 free drink.   Dress is Christmas theme with prizes for best dressed and lots of other prizes.  RSVP and pay by Thursday, 20th November.   Lead:  Liz Brantley-Brown.

Thursday, 18th December: 4.30 p.m. Kedron-Wavell Services Club for Christmas drinks and optional dinner at own cost served from 5.00 p.m..  Lead:  Linda Lawes.

January 2026

Thursday 22nd January:  8.00 a.m. Australia Day Brekkie in the Park - Teralba Park.  Get in early and register to start celebrating Australia Day.  A barbeque breakfast will be provided from 8.00 a.m..  This is a free event.  Final bookings must be made by 4th December 2025, before the Xmas/New Year break.  Helpers needed on the day.  Lead:  June Sakzewski.

February 2026

Sunday 8th February:  2.00 p.m. Growl Theatre "Golf, Marriage and Other Murderous Matters". John and Jenny suffer the stress of modern life until Jenny is pushed just too far. She discovers murder may be relatively easy, disposing of the body challenging, but explaining to friends.... is almost impossible.  A one-act play.  Cost: $15.00.  Lead: Judy Catts.

Thursday 12th February:  10.30 a.m. Brisbane Motor Museum, 959 Nudgee Road, Banyo. Romeos group  in conjunction with "Grumpy Old Men" from Arana Hills Probus Club.  Entry is $20.00.  Meet in carpark under the building and following the tour, lunch will be at the lovely on-site cafe. February's car display is "Classic vs Plastic", classic being the old chrome bumper bars. Lead: Lyndley Northcott 

Thursday 19th February:  9.30 a.m.  Trivia Day and Morning Tea, Gaythorne Bowls Club.  Jan Lidicky is preparing some thought-provoking questions for this event.  Expect some trick questions!  Morning tea starts at 9.30 a.m. , game is from 10.00 a.m.  This is a free event and includes morning tea and hall hire.  Lead: Linda Lawes.

March 2026

Thursday 19th March:  Lunch at Litse Lounge, Shop 5, Great Western Super Centre, 1028 Samford Road, Keperra.  Good reviews.  Pay individually.  Early booking needed.  Lead: TBC

INFORMATION - BUS TOURS. 2026

Monday 27th April 2026:  "New England Autumn Colours".  Tour to Armidale/Glen Innes/Inverell/Tamworth/Tenterfield with Granite Highland Tours.  An all-inclusive tour for 5 night/6 days.  Cost is $1470.00 p/p double or twin share, and $1795.00 single (person not sharing motel room).  Balance of payment is due on or before Tuesday 31st March 2026.   Note:  Passengers should take out appropriate travel insurance against cancellation fees and expenses due to accident &/or illness. Don't forget to advise any special dietry requirements.  Leads: Terry Holmes and Linda Lawes.
