July 23:  July Meeting at Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club at 10 am

August 14:  Biloxi Blues. Our next theatre outing will be to see the Castle Hill Players perform Biloxi Blues, a play by Neil Simon at the Pavilion Theatre. Biloxi Blues is a comedy with some poignant and heartfelt moments as the central character, Eugene, learns the power of the written word and the difference between making a stand and simply standing by. The cost will be $25.00/head and includes a light supper following the performance.  Payment must be made on or before our meeting on July 23.

August 23:  Cluster meeting for local Probus Clubs at PSPL Board Room, Suite 1, Level 1, 85 George Street Parramatta.  If you are interested in attending, please call Julie Oliver on 1300 630 488

August 28:  High Tea. Our high tea at the Cucina Locale revolving restaurant at Blacktown (Blacktown Workers) haas been booked and at $25.00/head, it's not to be missed. As per booking requirements, payment needs to be made on or before out meeting on July 23.Yum!

September 2:  celebrate life and put on your dancing shoes at the 365 Care Senior Dance at the Harvey Lowe Pavilion, Castle Hill.  Cost is $5.00

September 10:  Riverboat Postman. The cruise down the Hawkesbury River includes morning tea, with percolated coffee, tea and ANZAC biscuits, a delicious Ploughman’s style lunch: shaved ham, cheese, tomato, zucchini, carrot, mixed lettuce, pickled onions, fresh Turkish bread rolls, pickles, fruit chutney, butter and Italian dressing.  Please advise if you have special dietary requirements.   

Whether you choose to travel by car or train, it’s an early start with attendees to meet at the Brooklyn Public Wharf at 9:30am.  Note that the station has steps to climb and there is no lift.  We will arrive back at the wharf around 1:00 pm.  The cost of this outing is $48.00/head to be paid on or before our meeting on August 27.

September 13 & 14:  Sydney Seniors and Disability Expo will be held at Sydney Olympic Park (Exhibition Hall 4). The theme is My Future, My Choice and aims to link thousands of seniors and people with a disability with hundreds of product and service providers as well as leisure, lifestyle and technology options for all. This event is free, but attendees are asked register.  Register here:

November 15: The Sydney Cove Rotary Club has invited members of Quakers Hill Probus Club to celebrate the 25th Annual Rotary SOLAS Charity Regatta on the Captain Cook cruise ship as it follows the yachts racing around Sydney Harbour. While on board, you’ll enjoy a delicious seafood buffet, including drinks. Shipboard entertainment includes a jazz ensemble, an expert race caller and a lively charity auction.  More information to follow. 

December 17: Christmas at the Townhall.  If you love choral and orchestral performances, this is one for you. The program includes the Christmas story in words and music, spectacular carols and pageantry with massed choir, children’s choir, soprano, harp, NSW Police Band and the grand organ. Tickets for this event will become available in November. If you are interested in attending, we will be collecting estimated numbers at our next meeting (July 23) and collecting payment before November meeting.  

Fridays (except during school holidays): Drumming at the Rooty Hill School of Arts ,32 Rooty Hill Road, Rooty Hill at 12.00 noon.  This activity is run by the Older Women’s Network. There is an annual joining fee of $10.00 and $5.00 per session to participate.
