About us......
THE PROBUS CLUB OF MARGARET RIVER INC.
The following is some information you may find useful:
Firstly we meet on the second Tuesday of the month (not December - (our Christmas lunch), and January), at the District Club, Tunbridge Street, Margaret River at 10 a.m. The first part of the meeting is going through the last month’s minutes and usually takes about half an hour.
We then adjourn for morning tea, which is a chance to catch up with people on a social level over a cup of tea or coffee, and some tasty sandwiches and cake.
Following this at approximately 11 a.m., we invite a speaker to talk to us about a variety of subjects, always very interesting and informative. This is organised in advance by one of our Committee Members.
We have a raffle, the raffle is usually drawn at the end of the meeting by our speaker. The funds from this goes into an account which helps with subsidising our Christmas celebrations.
Once a month we have a social ‘outing’. This can be a morning tea at an interesting venue, or lunch, usually locally. It is always up to the individual whether or not they wish to attend, but it is usually very well attended and a good time to catch up with other members on a social level.
The financial cost for each member is :
Joining fee $25 (this includes your name badge)
Annual fee $40
Hall hire and morning tea $6
Otherwise, there is just the cost of the outing which obviously varies and is dependent on your choice of morning tea or lunch. Travelling to the outing venue is usually independently, or there is car sharing organised.
The Probus motto is “ Friendship and Fun in Retirement” and I am sure you will find that joining Probus will expand your friendships and social activities.
