THE BEGINNINGS OF LOGANHOLME PROBUS CLUB
An idea by two passionate and persistent Ladies, who were involved in Probus Clubs started its slow journey. Probus is about making new friends, having fun, food and exploring new opportunities with like-minded people. Our only wish was that the Loganholme Club would be friendly and welcoming to all members.
Sandi Silva and Barb Currell over nearly eighteen months ago, asked Merv Richens (PSPL Committee Member ) about what was needed to open another Probus group in Loganholme. We watched clubs around us start and then Kingston East Neighbourhood Centre reopened The Tudor Park Centre which gave us a venue in Loganholme Probus.
Our Loganholme Rotary club came on board with a very enthusiastic Councillor Miriam Stemp Logan City Council Division 10, who wanted this great facility after being closed and then flooded in 2022 to realise it full potential.
Flyers were created and dropped into letter boxes around the local area then a Facebook post advertising the interest meeting was shared, Potential Members started to call and an interest meeting was set up for 12th September 2023.
The large number who attended and also joined this club is off to a flying start, with 38 people forming the Loganholme Probus Club as "Foundation Members.
