Jerrabomberra Probus Club is a medium size club focusing on social interaction within the club

Jerrabomberra Probus Club has been active for 21 years bringing together retired and semi-retired people from Jerrabomberra and nearby areas such as Queanbeyan.
The club was originally formed under the auspices of the Jerrabomberra Rotary Club from a previous senior’s group.
Today, we are an active medium sized club. We have around 60 members. Our experience over time has shown this is the optimal size to sustain the club and ensure close links among members.
In common with most Probus Clubs, life of our Jerrabomberra club revolves around our regular monthly meeting. The meeting brings the club members together for fellowship, stimulating guest speakers and fun activities.
Building on the monthly meetings, the club has a wide range of monthly and other social activities including social events and interest groups,

Monthly Meeting
Our monthly meeting is on the morning of the 3rd Wednesday each month except December. It runs from 10:30 until noon with a set agenda. The meeting is held at:
Lakeview Room
Jerrabomberra Community Centre
25-31 The Parkway
Jerrabomberra NSW 2619

A meeting agenda is circulated each month with the minutes of the previous meeting. At Jerrabomberra, we focus on providing plenty of time in the meeting for member interaction. This emphasises the social value of club membership. We have a generous morning tea break with generally homemade sandwiches and pastries. Following the meeting members often go to a local restaurant for a light lunch.
Regular Newsletter – we publish a monthly newsletter– “Jerractives” – with a range of news items and member contributions.
Get-together lunches - Members and guests get together each month for lunches on the 1st Wednesday each month at 12 noon. No commitment is necessary, and the group often select a different location each month.
Coffee club - Members and guests meet for a morning coffee on the 4th Wednesday each month at 10.00 a.m. No commitment is necessary, and the group often select a different location each month.
Interest groups - several interest groups get together monthly at regular times, such as

- Walking Group - walks Tuesdays and Thursdays mornings each month - times depend on time of year and the weather.
- Garden Club - meets monthly to visit local gardens by invitation and encourage each other’s gardening endeavours.
Club Library
The club maintains a small but important library. The library keeps a special section of books written by past guest speakers which may be borrowed and returned. In addition, members can contribute books and magazines. These can be borrowed and returned or kept. The Club Library is “open” during monthly meetings.
Local Outings and Trips
The club organises smaller group outings to local events and activities of interest. Members make their own way to the event. The events include:
