The Combined Probus Club of Hutt was formed on 23 June 1997 sponsored by the Rotary Club of Hutt.
There were 52 Foundation members and from that meeting in 1997, the following officers of the club were elected:

It was resolved that meetings be held at the Hutt Golf Club (now known as Boulcott's Farm Heritage Golf Club) on the third Monday of each month from 10 am to 12 noon.
The first Guest Speaker was the then current Mayor of Lower Hutt, Mr John Terris, and over the years the Club have had Guest Speakers who have spoken about their particular vocation or interest which members have enjoyed hearing.
The Club celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the Club at the Petone Workingmen’s Club in 2007.
The 20th Anniversary in June 2017 was at the James Cook Hotel, Wellington, and the 25th Anniversary celebrated on 23 June 2022 at “The Grasslands” Silverstream Retreat in Lower Hutt.
Life Membership was conferred on Colin Strachan in March 2007 and Jaye Howey in August 2009.
Our 20th Anniversary in June 2017 saw Liz Palmer & Bill Soeberg receive Life Membership and at our 25th Anniversary celebrations, Life Membership was conferred on Robin Watson.
Along with other Probus Clubs, the Club celebrated 50 years of Probus in New Zealand in October/November 2024, by the Life Members of the Club cutting the Celebration Cake. A pictorial Powerpoint presentation of the Club’s history was shown, and Life Membership conferred on Heather Salmon.
