The weather was very kind to us on Tuesday, 5th October, as the deckhands of the Captain Proud cast off the ropes from the vessel’s mooring in Murray Bridge.
Thirteen intrepid Probians and a welcome guest (Mrs F.) set off on the very first out of Adelaide excursion of the Henley Beach Probus Club. We were seated at two tables on the covered aft deck of the paddle steamer and conversation was flowing.
A pleasant two course meal was served as we paddled both upstream and downstream from Murray Bridge. The Captain kept up an informative commentary of the scenery along the journey. A very pleasant three hours of fellowship and river viewing was our reward.
Thank you to the drivers who helped us transport our group safely to and from Murray Bridge for this excursion.
