The PROBUS CLUB of DOUBLE BAY

Double Bay Probus Club meets every 3^rd Monday in the month (except December) at 10am.

Our meetings are held at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia in New Beach Rd, Rushcutters Bay.

It’s a club of retired and semi-retired members – men and women – from business and professional backgrounds. It has been meeting at the CYCA for around 30 years and provides the opportunity for senior members of our community to lead lives full of friendship, fun and education.

There is a calendar of speakers for the monthly meetings. They address a wide range of provocative and interesting topics drawn from aspects of law, medical research, architecture, science and energy, building and construction. Also included are sport, history, the arts, and lifestyle areas such as gardening and travel.

At the conclusion of our meeting at 12pm, many members stay for lunch on the CYCA waterfront deck.

Between monthly meetings members also meet for coffee mornings and can choose outings in and around Sydney, catering to a wide range of interests. There are also opportunities to attend theatre and musical events.

The activities of this club encapsulate all the elements which underpin a rich life for Seniors – regular contact with friends and fellowship with others.

Our club is non- sectarian, non- political and there are no fundraising activities. Our committee members are all volunteers.

Our Constitution states – ‘’The concept of Probus is to advance the intellectual and cultural interests of members and for members to take an active role in both attendance at meetings and social functions, and the operations of the Club.”
