Digital Literacy for Seniors Program Yarra Plenty Regional Library (YPRL)

Are there members of the Doreen Combined Probus Club who might benefit from learning more about using the internet in their daily lives? I’m writing to ask if your members would like to join in a valuable learning opportunity with Yarra Plenty Regional Library (YPRL). We can come to community venues, or provide transport to a library, to give training in the online topics you ask for. We have funding to give training in people’s own first language where possible.

Topics we offer can include:

Health and health literacy online Cyber security and scams awareness MyGov and other government forms

YPRL will consult with seniors in the library and in the community. We ask seniors what they would like to learn and what learning approach they would like us to take. We are putting great effort to include CALD communities and multicultural support agencies.

The Victorian Government has allocated $2 million for public libraries to conduct targeted, hands-on digital literacy programs for older members of the community during 2023. Yarra Plenty Regional Library is running those programs in your area.
