A very busy two-day schedule as we went down to Jamberoo this year’s Yulefest celebration. There were 34 on the bus, 28 of us, 5 from Brookvale Probus and a family member. The schedule started with a pickup from Cronulla Station by our OnCourse driver, John, at 9am. We drove down the coast over the newish Seacliff Drive just north of Wollongong and on to the HARS Aviation Museum. I was amazed at the size of the place not to mention multiple aircraft on display, some of which are shown in this newsletter. Lunch of pizza and salad at the Kiama Golf Club. From there we went for a wine tasting at the Coolangatta Winery at Shoalhaven. Drive through several areas such as berry then onto Jamberoo staying at the Lodge for our Yulefest dinner. The meal consisted of around 9 shared courses. At first, we though there wouldn’t be a great deal of food but by the end we were all full.
Next day we went to Berry for morning tea and a stroll. A Kangaroo Valley drive through with a stop at the Fitzroy Falls followed. Lunch was at Moss Vale where we had a choice of either beef and mushroom pie, fish and chips or a calamari salad plus either sticky pudding or bread and butter pudding for dessert. A stop at Bowral for a stroll then back home via Mt. Gibraltar lookout drive. Arrived back around 5:30pm. Phew.
The weather was cold (was Christmas in July after all). We had the same cold snap that Sydney had only colder. Bowral was freezing (literally). Very little rain in the form of light showers and, thankfully, none whilst outside the bus.
