June Davy introduced the guest speaker, Dr Bahareh Varposhti. Dr B spoke about her living and growing up in Iran and studying to be a doctor. Also her 2 years extra studies to get to move to Australia and ending up in Bridgetown. This followed by a presentation of slides of her home town being an industrial city. Some slides showed how people dressed in the 70’s, quite westernized and how they are dressed now under a strict regime. Dr B wants to be a voice in Australia for Iranians still living there but realizes she most likely cant go back to see her family.
Following the presentation Dr B. commented
"... thank you for the incredible opportunity you presented to me by inviting me to your lovely and welcoming club with that positive atmosphere."
