Cheese and Wine Evenings

Organiser: vacant

Each Cheese and Wine night, or a C&W lunch/picnic, will vary depending on the Host of the Night/Day, and the situation or time of year. Please see the scheduled Cheese and Wine night, or contact the organisers for details.

The aim is to all enjoy the company and fellowship of our Probus contemporaries.

The format of the events can be described as follows:

Evenings: Cheese and Wine from 5pm. Nibbles will be provided prior to dinner.

BYO: Wine of your choice, should you not be an ‘alcohol drinker’, this does not exclude you from attending—just bring the beverage of your choice.

Dinner about 7pm. A dinner, for example this can be: Pizzas; a BBQ; a Sausage sizzle; or even Dinner at a local (close to the venue) BYO restaurant.

Time to End: Depending on the situation please consider that the
evening should end by about 9:30pm that gives the hosts time to unwind after the evening.

Cost: Typically $15 pp.

Lunch/Picnic: Cheese and Wine from about 11am. Nibbles will be provided prior to lunch.

BYO: Wine of your choice, should you not be an ‘alcohol drinker’,
this does not exclude you from attending—just bring the beverage of your choice.

Lunch/about 12noon. A Lunch, typically a Sausage sizzle (certainly not limited to this!!), with salads, bread rolls. We will also provide tea/coffee.

Time to End: Depending on the situation, about 3pm.
Cost: Typically $15 pp.

As organisers, we appreciate members offering to host such an event at your homes. We can limit the number attending to that which you feel comfortable with, typically about 35 members. We can provide chairs, tables, basically whatever you need. We can offer a ‘suggested’ nibbles menu, even provide the nibbles, and we have a number of option ideas for the main course, again being home delivered pizzas, sausage sizzle, or many other options, but it should be burdensome. We are prepared to guide you through it, even take charge of the evening.
