 Meeting Minutes – General Meeting – Wednesday, July 9th, 2025

The Meeting opened at 10.31 a.m.

Apologies: Victor Bosianek, Brian Burke, Doug Coates, John Hollis, Denis Lane, Harley Rustin. David Lord from 11.08 a.m.

Guest: Dave Anderson from Forestry Corporation

 

1. Opening of Meeting

 Geoff Fry was introduced as Guest Speaker.

Requests were made for items of General Business – none were offered.

 

2. Apologies – see above.

 

3. Birthdays – Chris McKay’s birthday was acknowledged.

 

4. Reports:

                        Secretary: Proposed Constitution and Standing Resolutions discussed at the last meeting were put to a vote of members. There were no amendments. Discussion was invited. There was no discussion.

S.R. Mentioned and explained the “One-Off Mystery Prize”. Members to fill out the forms with a best guess.

Motion proposed to put the Constitution to a vote. The motion was seconded and the Constitution put to a vote. Result was a unanimous vote in favour of adopting the new Constitution.

Motion proposed to put the Standing Resolutions to a vote. The motion was seconded and the Standing Resolutions put to a vote. Result was a unanimous vote in favour of adopting the new Standing Resolutions.

                        Treasurer: Report as per newsletter. May financials published in the newsletter. June figures were provided in hard copy on members’ tables.

                        Welfare: Ken Barcham – John Hollis has been in hospital.

                                    Those members visiting Bathurst Hospital should be aware that Covid and other illnesses are getting around and please wear masks and take other precautions for the health and safety of everyone.

                        Tours: Ian Burns –The next tour is to the Errowanbang shearing shed. Members were reminded of its attractions and features as a point of interest. A visit would also be made to the Carcoar Courthouse and lunch would be at the Carcoar pub.

On the 20th August there will be a tour to Gulgong with lunch at the Prince of Wales Hotel.

5. General Business – S.R spoke about development of a webpage on the PROBUS South Pacific website. S.R. to see to this.

Travel Insurance – discussion and praise for PROBUS travel Insurance; recommended to members who are travelling as very competitive and easy deal with.

6. Drawing of the raffle: The raffle was drawn.

7. “One-Off Mystery Prize” was decided. Congratulations to Geoff Fry, Lach Rendall and Ian Burns.
