Yass please

Towards the end of October, some members of the Probus Club of Tuggeranong travelled on a coach trip for a Day in the Country.

They toured from Canberra through green lush countryside to have morning tea at Tootsie Gallery Cafe, a creative, unique venue in Yass.

There were too many ‘treasures’ to describe scattered throughout the several cosy and relaxing rooms as members enjoyed Devonshire tea.

After the repast they again boarded the coach to be entertained with commentary by a representative from Yass and District Historical Society, and as they toured around the town they learned about the history, stories and anecdotes of the pioneers and the growth of Yass.

Members then travelled on to the township of Bowning where at Bowning Hotel they enjoyed warm hospitality, a hot roast lunch and a delicious dessert.

As they travelled back to Canberra they were a happy bunch of contented travellers who had enjoyed friendship, fellowship, fine foods and a delightful Day in the Country.
