Albion Park and Oak Flats visit Kangaroo Valley

Cold and rain didn’t stop the Albion Park and Oak Flats Combined Probus Club from enjoying an outing in Kangaroo Valley, NSW.

They started with a hot cuppa in a park in Berry before heading up and over Cambewarra Mountain. The weather was too foggy and wet for photos from the lookout, but the winding road down into Kangaroo Valley offered wonderful views and lush green vegetation.

Over the 1898 Hampden Bridge and across the Kangaroo River, they stopped at the Pioneer Museum, where they were given a brief historical talk on the way pioneer families lived and worked their farms in bygone days, with original slab buildings from the late 1800s. Displays of vintage equipment and homewares as well as a display of old Buildings, dairy, laundry, outhouses and a slab hut.

They marvelled at a suspension bridge 70 metres long spanning a deep gorge. It was a great day despite the weather.
