A special performance of the Pirates of Penzance
24 Jul 2018
50 Members and friends of the Probus Club of Granite Island visited Adelaide for a special performance of the Pirates of Penzance on April 22nd 2018.
The performance by Emma Knights Productions was especially performed for the Probus Club and particularly interesting because the Gilbert & Sullivan classic operetta was especially adapted to be on board the iconic POPEYE on Adelaide’s River Torrens. The cast consisted of eight of Adelaide’s best local performers and Emma proficiently accompanied on the piano. The production was a sell out at this year’s Adelaide Fringe Festival and was organised for the club outing through clever negotiation by Barry Pryor, a Club Member and RDPC.
Afterwards, the warm balmy night and city lights beautifully reflected in the waters of the Torrens River provided a perfect backdrop for members to gather for a meal and drinks at a nearby café.
