Wedding days

Inspired by an exhibition of wedding dresses at The National Museum, Te Papa Waterloo Probus Club mounted its own display of wedding dresses, going-away outfits and wedding memorabilia.

Photographs depicted up to four generations of marriages and dresses dated back as far as early last century.

Framed copies of one couple’s vows (written by the couple themselves) from a Quaker service caught members’ attention. Two photos showed a mother and her daughter wearing the same wedding dress at their respective weddings.

Naturally, we were all interested to see how beautiful (or handsome) we looked on our special day.
