Probus picnic
21 Apr 2016
The Copper Coast Probus Club invited other clubs from the area to enjoy a picnic together.
Overall, 15 clubs from the northern area of Moonta were invited and most sent representatives.
It was a beautiful day, and members had a lot of fun with different games such as Throw the Rolling Pin and Horse Shoe Tossing in which all clubs entered a team of three members.
Lunch was Cornish pasties, a specialty of Moonta.
The Moonta National Trust (for which many of the members volunteer) put on train rides which run through the mining area as well as road tram rides to the local mine. Highlights included the Miner’s Cottage and garden, the old school museum and the Oldtime Sweet Shop which was manned by ladies dressed in Cornish costumes.
